When we were in the Provence in October 2020, I was surprised that there were still so many flowers to see. Not only purple, but also yellow autumn styleless. The wild cyclamen and western crimson are also in bloom. And the vineyards are starting to change colour. It also smells wonderful in many places; the grape harvest is in full swing!<\/p>\n

A day of lesser weather while spending late summer in the Provence?<\/h2>\n

In the unlikely event that the weather is not so nice for a day, there are plenty of things to do indoors. For example, visit a castle, such as that of Grignan<\/a>, Suze la Rousse<\/a> or Barroux<\/a>. A visit to the Palace of the Popes and Avignon<\/a> is also well worthwhile, for that matter, also on a non-rainy day. Or visit the olive museum<\/a> and lavender distillery Bleu Provence<\/a> in Nyons.<\/p>\n

The prices for renting an accommodation are a lot lower outside the high season. Also a great reason to spend late summer in the Provence, right?<\/p>\n
