Things to do in the Provence September 2021

Also in September there is plenty to do in the vicinity of Le Rêve Provençal. Hereby our top 5 of things to do in the Provence in September 2021.

Tip 1 – Les Journées du patrimoine

18 and 19 September in Vaison-la-Romaine and in Nyons

Vaison-la-Romaine

The Heritage Days are a household name in France and are always organised on the 3rd weekend of September. In Vaison-la-Romaine, the following monuments have free entry this weekend:

  • The archaeological sites of Puymin and La Villasse
  • The Archaeological Museum Théo Desplans
  • The medieval upper town with the Sainte-Marie de l’Assomption Cathedral and the new stained glass windows created by Father Kim En Joong, an internationally renowned French-Korean artist
  • The Romanesque Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Nazareth and its cloister
  • The Saint-Quenin Romanesque chapel is exceptionally accessible on Sundays from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Special guided tours for children (in French) are also organised.

Nyons

The striking Tour Randonne tower and the Chapelle de Chausan can be visited for free this weekend.

On Saturday, September 18 at 11 am, a lecture will start the renovation of the stained glass windows of the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Bon-Secours. And from 3 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, guided tours of this chapel will be organised. The Jardin des Arômes botanical garden is also free to enter this weekend and there is a free guided tour on the Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday, there is a free guided tour of the Saint-Césaire Monastery from 3 pm to 6 pm. And on the same day, there will be a free concert in the Saint-Vincent church from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Sunday will be concluded with a guided tour from 7 pm to 8 pm on the theme of Nyons’ hidden face.

Tip 2 – Salon d’automne des arts ô soleil

4 to 10 September in Séguret

September 4 to 10 an exhibition of painters, sculptors and other artist in Séguret. Séguret is worth a visit in itself. This village has the label Plus beaux villages de france (most beautiful villages in France). The village has an idyllic location at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail and is surrounded by vineyards.

Tip 3 – Bien-être au Naturel

5 September from 10 am up to 6 pm in Montbrun-les-Bains

On September 5, the beautiful spa village of Montbrun-les-Bains is all about natural wellness with activities for children and adults. Lectures, walks, children’s workshops, cooking workshops and also a large thematic market.

Tip 4 – Exhibition Caryl Fouquet

Up to 2 September in Buis-les-Baronnies

Only 2 days left to enjoy Caryl Fouquet’s colorful paintings on Rue du Paty in Buis-les-Baronnies.

Tip 5 – Festival Les Platanes Craquent

5 September from 7 pm up to midnight

A music festival in the aforementioned Séguret. Rock, groove, soul, jazz and electro. 3 groups will perform: Axel Enderlin, Doc Valdum and Les Punchers. Food and drinks for sale on site.
